You may want to compose your review ahead of time so all that remains when you’re at the computer is to type it in, or copy & paste.
WHAT TO SAY
Haven't written a book review since grade school? It's ok; those were good practice. Here are some ideas:
A. Did you like the book? Why? (if not, perhaps contact Lisa directly with your feedback.)
B. What other groups of people might like Abby Wize ? Age, occupation, interests.
C. What did the book make you feel, and at what points?
D. Were there any details you liked? The craft projects, the endnotes, specific content.
If you're going to describe book points beyond the summary, write *PLOT SPOILER* in front of your section and *END PLOT SPOILER* after it. Most people don't mind them, or even like them, but some people get very upset when the plot is revealed out of turn.
LENGTH: Up to you. I've seen a two-word review ("Great book!") and multiple paragraphs comparing to other similar books, digging into symbolism and impact on society...
MECHANICS OF POSTING A REVIEW
1. Go to www.Amazon.com and Search for “Abby Wize” with a Z, OR go to www.amazon.com/dp/1733327606 for the direct link to the Revised Edition with the green cover.
( www.amzn.com/1452024901 for the Original Edition with the white cover.)
2. Scroll down to the Reviews section. Look for a rectangular yellow button saying, “Write a Review.”
3. Click the “Write a Review” or whatever wording they're using for that..
4. It will ask you for a review title, which I usually leave for last after I see what I’ve written.
5. The larger box is for the wording of your review. All sorts of topics make a good review: what you liked, what you didn’t like, and why for either; who you think this would be good for; your reading experience; your thoughts as you read it; what you learned; what you thought was going to happen, what you thought could be better, etc.
6. If you mention specific plot points, put the words “SPOILER ALERT” in front of them and “END SPOILER ALERT” behind them.
7. Be as brief OR as verbose as you wish. Space the sentences and paragraphs as you wish. Use “I” as liberally as you wish. You can refer to me as “Lisa” or “Ms. Godward” or “the author.”
8. Pick a star rating and click on the number of stars (out of 5, 5 being the best) you give the book.
9. Craft a title summarizing one of the points about the book.
10. Precautionary step: Highlight and copy and paste the wording of the review and save it into a Word document or similar file. Sometimes things go awry and we don’t want to compose the review all over again.
11. Scroll down to find the “Submit Review” button and click it.
12. There should be a popup window saying Amazon will review your review LOL and email the account holder within a day or so. I find it takes about 3 days for reviews to actually show up.
13. Pretty please, contact me and let me know you submitted it, so I can watch for it? Grow {at} wize {dot} media OR click on "Contact Us" at the bottom of the Home page on this website. Those emails go to that same address. If you really couldn't stand the book, please contact me individually thru the routes given.
